As you may remember, the publication of Bandersnatch was delayed for a month in the states, and much longer for those in England and Canada. To while away the time whilst waiting, poet extraordinaire Malcolm Guite offered up this little anthem:

Waiting for my Bandersnatch

I’m waiting for the longed-for day,
I’m waiting till I meet my match,
I’m waiting through this long delay,
I’m waiting for my Bandersnatch!

I ordered it on Amazon
I paid upfront – but here’s the catch
They’re out stock and till they’re done
I’m waiting for my Bandersnatch!

I’m waiting in a village Inn,
Sipping my pint beneath the thatch,
I’ll drown my sorrows deep in gin
If I don’t get my Bandersnatch!

Diana Glyer knows her stuff
She wrote this lovely book from scratch
Her other books just aren’t enough
I’m waiting for my Bandersnatch

My friends are waiting here with me,
And praying for a swift dispatch,
At least I keep good company
Whilst waiting for my Bandersnatch!

My friends and I are patient folk
We’re never known to grab or snatch
But this has got beyond a joke
We’re waiting for our Bandersnatch!
